South-Eastern France: Prison Guard’s Cars Torched Outside Chambéry Prison

In recent days, the prison guards at Chambéry Prison have been receiving some payback for the daily violence they inflict on prisoners. On three occasions they have found their personal vehicles that were parked in front of the jail in ashes.

On the night of Wednesday the 2nd to Friday the 3rd of November, the car of a prison guard went up in smoke. The same guard had already seen his first car destroyed by the flames a few months ago. A few nights previously, on the night between Tuesday the 24th and Wednesday the 25th of October, it was the car of one of his fellow executioners that was torched. The cops say that on the night of one of these attacks, surveillance cameras near the prison filmed two people on motorbikes wearing ‘Scream’ masks.

The prison guard union are now whining to the prison management demanding that ‘closed and secure parking’ be specially built for them to park their cars.

Fire to the prisons and the property of those who work for them!
