Free human access to every place desired, is an inalienable right claimed against speculators and carpetbaggers who transform natural environment into another capitalist enterprise, denying access to all living beings (human or non-human).
The transformation of natural environment into exclusive spaces for exploitation and of the access to it , forces free-minded people to defend through continuous and uninterrupted struggles across planet Earth, the right for free access and protection of the natural environment, as well as the rights of all living beings for the purpose of harmoniously coexisting with human beings, free from any authoritative or exploitative relationship among them.
Typical examples of the senseless exploitation of the environment by the capitalists is Mount Everest, which gradually is turned into the largest dustbin on a mountain, asphalting the mountains up to their tops in order to install telephone and television antennas / radars / wind turbines etc. , the private ski-resorts that forbid entrance to those without money and many other relevant examples.
All this is carried out with the contribution or at least the tolerance of local communities and mayors, as well as that of the residents who are sold out to the predatory capitalist companies of exploitation that continue to get richer at the expense of living beings and of the planet, on the altar of the promises for the minimum money they “will” get after the brutal abuse of the natural environment and the living beings.
Recent examples of irreversible damage to the environment and the ecosystems include Skouries, Acheloos, TAP gas pipeline, wind turbines and solar parks, TAV in Italy, violation of native americans’ rights in north America, etc. People’s struggles against these disasters constitute a guide for the future struggles of the group and we share their beliefs against all forms of exploitation.
Based on these beliefs the Anarchist Group of Libertarian Hiking was formed in July 2016, by people who wanted to combine the anarchist ideas with their love for nature, the environment and the right to hike and climb freely.
The group promotes the values of Anarchy and the respect for all living beings, the enivronment, ecosystems and the earth itself and is the continuation of the first venture of the Anarchist Libertarian Hiking. The group is open to the participation of people governed by anarchist and libertarian ideas.
Our purpose is to create a network of people who will take an active role in protecting the nature and will participate in everyday social struggles.
