A car driven by a racist on Saturday evening in Charlottesville, stole Industrial Workers of the World/IWW member Heather Heyer’s life and wounded many. As the people of the city stood up against the racist threats and organized solidarity showed a strong response, this attack targeted an anti-racist rally and the struggle for freedom in general. The state which stood with its law enforcement just watching during the attack, declared state of emergency to put more pressure on the struggle.

We are not foreign to racist attacks, nor to state of emergency, as the state in our geography has been running a state of emergency for more than a year. We stand in solidarity with all comrades in the struggle against racism in Charlottesville, and against state constructed violence in general. We share your sorrow.

Our sorrow is the seed of our rage.
