Lecce, Italy: Some disruption around the TAP yard

On Thursday 29th March 2018, between 1am and 3am, a good number of opponents gathered outside the TAP yard and banged on the iron gates for a long time. Workers who at that late hour were still intent at working on the up-thrust well for the micro tunnel, finally gave up, turned off the lights and locked themselves in the containers used as changing room. The banging continued for quite a while until some police cars arrived and placed themselves in front of the main entrance.

In the afternoon of 4th April two TAP agronomists engaged in a reconnaissance mission between the olive trees along the track of the gas pipe in the countryside of Melendugno, found themselves with their car blocked by a big stone placed across the pathway. As they were trying to go on, the car body and tyres were damaged. The alleged responsible for the block, on the contrary, went away undisturbed and dispersed in the surrounding countryside before the police turned out, alerted by one of the two technicians’ phone call.
