On July 19th, 2019, at the end of the hearing at the CPR [prison for migrants and people without documents] of Bari, the judge didn’t validate the request for detention at the Bari lager, the reasons for the detention were not deemed sufficient. Those who fight are attacked by the State and the courts, but when it comes to people who weren’t born in this country, of course, the margins are much wider, and this is how an already exceptional criminal law dedicated to the internal enemy becomes even more exceptional when it becomes immigration law. Even those who have lived in Italy for twenty years must deal with the policies of a State that wants to be inhospitable and aggressive against the figure of the immigrant, as long as it isn’t rich, of course.
