Even if we’ve never been fervid supporters (or users) of the new media that have imposed themselves bullyingly and arrogantly on all of our lives, we have decided to create this blog to give more visibility, however virtual, to the situation of repression against anarchists that has been going on in Florence for over a year (particularly the imprisonment of our comrade Ghespe). In the section ‘repression updates’ you’ll find all the communiques, leaflets, texts and everything else written until now and in the future on the situation in Florence. The section is structured like a typical blog, with chronological posts. Comments are disabled: many websites have become public rubbish dumps owing to the comments of contemporary bellicose dispensers of words. We believe that there are places (maybe physical ones) better suited to discussions and debates.
Another important thing that prompted us to create the blog is our desire to share information and research, particularly on DNA, more quickly (Ghespe is locked up solely because of DNA evidence against him, and this new instrument of repression will spread more and more if we don’t do anything to stop it).
The catalogue of the library ‘la Mareggiata’ is also available, at least what is left of it after countless evictions and public pyres (in the literal sense) on the part of police over the last fifteen years. As well as the catalogue of books the blog offers downloads of some of the printed material that we’ve distributed over the years.
The blog has just been created, so (we hope) it will be in constant evolution and development.
