Solidarity campaign for the creation of a social center in Greece, sponsored by Asykamo.
In the link below you can contribute in the effort to build the social center, solidarity is our strength!
Who we are
A.SY.KA.MO is an anarchist collectivity from Kallithea and Moschato in Athens Greece. Two years now we try to be politically active in all socio-political matters which directly affect everyone’s lives.
During the violent impoverishment of the working class, capitalism tries to balance the apparent wretchedness through an easy route of hate; fascism. In the years of the recent social crisis, the Nazi organization Golden Dawn attempted to claim public acceptance in our neighborhoods. However, the combative actions of the antifascist movement lead them to run away from our streets in humiliation.
Some of the antifascist actions of A.SY.KA.MO. include:
Primary residence auctions
Showing its actual intentions in an era of crisis, the Greek state threatened thousands of citizens with confiscations of their primary residence. In order to prevent this capitalist brutality, A.SY.KA.MO:
attacked the company Newsphone, which was responsible for creating an electronic auction platform, used by the state in an effort to economically rationalize unpayable loans, bypassing our comrades’ resistance in the court. (youtube link)
We will never stop fighting, as long as there are debt-collection agencies that suffocate and threaten citizens for paying off their “debts”.
At 16-12-2017, we proceeded to blocking the Benetton store at Ermou street in Athens, aiming to inform the consumers by highlighting the violent and inhumane tactics that are used against Benetton’s employees.
As common practice shared by companies of mass production, labor rights are obliterated – in many cases leading to death – while employees are forced to work under horrible working conditions, in dilapidated facilities and with salaries that do not even cover their basic needs, ascribing these criminal acts to occupational “accidents”.
This blocking action shows our active solidarity with the workers’ fights that will not be silenced by the threat of the capitalist system, hiding behind fancy display windows.
THE BOSS NEEDS YOU, YOU DON’T NEED THE BOSS!
In 2017 the tanker ship Agia Zoni II sank near the port of Piraeus, resulting in a devastating disruption of the local ecosystem. A protest was organized against this capitalism crime, marching towards the Greek Shipowners’ Association
