28.10.17: On October 26th, 2017 at 9:30PM, a bus travelling the Transantiago route 325 was stopped by a group of encapuchadxs (hooded ones) outside the University of Chile. An attempt was then made to set the bus on fire.
After the bus was stopped and the passengers had disembarked, the driver resisted and in his heroic zeal he deicded to protect the property of the exploitative company Vule S.A and drove the bus straight into the encapuchadxs who were building a barricade in the street.
The miserable bus driver Luis Maulén Miranda (see photo) ran over a compañero and rammed him into a tree. 21 year old Byron Robledo Villalobos suffered very serious wounds to his legs. He was found by a PDI (Investigative Police) patrol who were in the area and taken to the emergency ward at the Salvador Hospital.
Salvador is now out of the emergency ward but remains seriously injured with major fractures to both legs.
The prosecutors have announced that as soon as the compa’s situation stabilizes that he will be formally charged for public disorder offences and for breaking the new arms control laws because when he was found injured there were two Molotov cocktails nearby.
