Turkey: Health condition of hunger striking prisoner Fadik gets worse

İSTANBUL- Fadik Adıyaman, who has been imprisoned for being a member of the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C). Fadik has staged a hunger strike for 50 days. Fadik’s only demand is to end the isolation by sending her to the prison where her comrades are. Her lawyer Oya Aslan told that Fadik’s health condition has been getting worse and the Minister of Justice knows the situation.

Fadik Adıyaman is a revolutionary woman who was in the front line of resistance against massacres, urban transformation and assimilation policies on Alevi people. Fadik is known as “Plateau sister” in her neighborhood. When we talk about the resistances of Küçükarmutlu, the first the name of come to mind is Fadik. Fadik has been isolated in Tekirdağ T Type Prison and she has continued a hunger strike against this isolation for 50 days. Her lawyer Oya Aslan stated that Fadik’s health condition has been getting worse and Oya called on all citizens and the Minister of Justice for Fadik.

Oya Aslan said that Fadik’s only demand is to be with her friends. However, she hasn’t been sent to the prison where her friends are. The health condition of Fadik has been getting worse. Fadik has vomited and and she has begun to have blood in her nose.

Oya emphasized that the demand of Fadik must be met. Oya also called on all people to fax or send letter to the Minister of Justice for Fadik.
